The Gold Tone CC Mini Banjo is the perfect banjo for kids to learn play banjo on and in my opinion the best small banjo for children or adults traveling.

It has a maple neck and rim, 19 frets, sealed geared tuning machines, Straight Line tailpiece and snowflake inlay. Open C Tuning
It is the has same maple neck (but tuned to Open C, like the fifth fret of a full-sized banjo) and hard rock maple rim (but just eight inches in diameter) make the Mini a perfect travel banjo or the ideal child's instrument for the young picker. Also available as left-handed model.
The CC-Mini is tuned to Open C Tuning. CGCEG. When you play the banjo it will sound and play just like a normal banjo with a capo on the 5th fret. You won't have to relearn anything you already know in normal open G tuning, it will just be in the key of C. It will be the same visually and tonally as when you capo a normally Open G tuned banjo to the 5th fret. Here is a chart for transposing chords in the key of C. Transposing chords will only be necessary when playing with others.
