When electronically tested for pitch, sustain, and ring, it equals the original. It also has a slightly longer “skirt” which (1) provides more contact with wood rim and (2) provides direct contact with the heel of the neck. The neck is attached with a conventional hanger bolt going through a hole at the edge of the tone ring. This method provides an extremely tight fit and maximum heel contact with tone ring.
