A question on capoing the fifth string

Hi Ross!

In your years of playing the banjo , do you find it usefull to have a 5th sting sliding capo bar? I not sure if I should have one mounted ,if it is not really needed.

Hi, you should have something to capo the fifth string, when you play with others you use the capo a lot.

However, I recommend using capo spikes not a sliding capo bar, very, very few people use those anymore, no pros do, the spikes work much better.

Do you have a banjo repair person near where you live?
