The familiar rich dark brown stain, planetary tuning pegs and the addition of 5th string spikes at frets 7, 9, 10 for alternate tunings allows this light weight maple banjo to exceed the features customers wanted and needed. The violin-grade maple rim is made of the same wood used on the professional level Deering models and gives the Goodtime banjo a rich, full, round note distinction. Lightweight enough to travel with, convenient enough to keep by your easy chair at home, the Goodtime Artisan is great for hours of practice with a neck that is both comfortable to play and accurate to fret. This Goodtime banjo is not only beautiful to look at but will bring you hours of musical enjoyment.
The Goodtime does not come with the armrest like the more expensive Goodtime 2 does. We came up with a solution! We can install it for you for just the price of the armrest when we set the banjo up! See the options to choose the armrest below.

Great Little Banjo
0 of 0 people found the following review helpfulI ordered this banjo because we are on the road a lot and I had a super cheapo banjo that I played in the truck during our treks across Texas. I didn't have huge expectations honestly, thinking it was going to definitely be better than what I had been using but couldn't be that great, right? Oh my gosh I was so wrong in that assumption. This really is a great little banjo, I highly recommend it. I have not put it down since it came in. It's so much fun to play and a quality instrument. Shipping was super fast, I only had to do some minor tuning and it was ready to play right out of the box. Thank you Ross and crew, I am so happy with my purchase.

The Banjo arrived today in perfect condition. The Deering Artisan Jr. is the perfect practice and travel instrument. Is is much lighter than my other two Deering banjos and has the same wonderful sound of a full size banjo. Thanks for your great service. I've had this banjo several months now and it goes with me everywhere. I travel a lot and this is the perfect banjo for taking on the plane with me. It's very light and the gig bag that comes with it protects it very well. While I always try to put it in the closet up front, sometimes the flight attendants ask me to put it in the overhead. A few times some "brute" passengers try to jam their bags on top or into it but the banjo and bag has always held up very well. I play this banjo in the hotel room (lightly of course as to not bother other folks) and it helps me to be able to practice while on the road. I tune it to open G and it works fine. It does need to be re-tuned more often than my Deering Sierra but that may be due to the temperature extremes I subject it to.
I highly recommend this banjo to anyone that needs a smaller banjo for travel.
