Heavy and super-safe
0 of 0 people found the following review helpfulJust got this for my new banjo. It looks a bit off in my studio, as everything else is on higher, straighter, much lighter (less secure) stands. I guess I'll be replacing those soon.. I almost lost a nice (new) Les Paul a few years ago. Well, it's certainly worth a lot less now.. Yup. Someone tripped over the stand and knocked it face-first on a hardwood stage. Headstock break. no-one would touch it (not even Gibson) until I found a private luthier in the mountains in western VA who magically reparied it back to new for $300 (he wanted less..) Anyway, this one looks super-safe. It's heavy, has a very low center of gravity with solid footing, and it can be leaned way back, a bit forward of 45 degrees. Nice spring-loaded/padded locking bar. Easier to grab one-handed than the ones with the rubber slingshot straps, which don't last forever. Ever tried to buy replacements of those? I discovered that it's not that simple. Anyway, it comes fully assembled. Folds flat, but it's a tank. Yes. You need it.
