Ross takes you through several banjo songs playing each song in a different key, He demonstrates plaiting the songs in the keys of C, D, E, F and G up the neck all using movable chord shapes. Knowing where the commonly used melody notes are in these shapes really simplifies this task and makes what may have seemed overwhelming more easily attainable.

Here's a "testimonial" for you:

I've been playing in jam sessions for years, but always struggled with playing a song in a different key, and the thought of "how to do that" was very intimidating and a mystery for me! But after watching this DVD, I have a better understanding on how to use the moveable chord positions, forms and shapes all over the neck. It made sense to me, and now the neck of my banjo isn't quite as intimidating as it was before! I have much work to do to apply all these concepts and make them my own, but now I understand your ideas and have a clear plan for knowing "what to practice" this time around. I look forward to becoming more versatile in jam sessions in 2015. Thanks for making this much needed tutorial!

I'm good to go.

Hey Ross, I just finished watching the entire DVD this morning (my comment below) and noticed that the PDF is included on the DVD (as you said) so all is well! This is better than including a "small book" with the DVD (which would be hard to read), because now I can expand the PDF to whatever size I need to see it clearly. So, I'm good to go.

I feel a lot more confident now.

Ross; I recently purchased, "Playing Banjo in the Keys of C, D, E, F and G Up the Neck" I just want to send a brief note telling you how much this course has helped me. I've been attending a jam session for over a year, and I've been struggling with taking a lead on songs I didn't know. After reviewing your information (which I've done several times), I'm now able to play in nearly any key that is called for a song. I've found that using the "D shape" up the neck it an easy, repeatable way to reproduce the melody. I feel a lot more confident now. The money spent on that course has been well worth it, several times over.
