The cutaway curly maple body has beautiful decorative bindings and carries a comfortable five-string banjo neck with planetary-gear tuners and a rosewood fretboard that any banjoist will feel at home on. The parallel-pull tailpiece exerts even pressure on the biscuit bridge atop the reverse-cone resonator for even tonal response. Basically a more refined version of the ResNick Resophonic because instead of having a Circular Body like a Traditional Banjo, it has a Cutaway Resonator Guitar Body which I find to be useful so that way the instrument wouldn't slide around when I'm holding it in my Lap. Like the ResNick Resophonic Banjo (I often describe the Dojo as a Gold Tone ResNick because of its function), the Resonator Cone gives it a very bluesy sound & w/ a Guitar Slide, it makes the instrument sound a bit more like the Human Voice.

The instrument is self is a beauty, I had asked you to send a "good looking one" and you really came thru on that one.
I'm glad that I got the Deluxe model with the pickup as I can process the sound and make it sound nasty and gritty if I want, it's great!

0 of 0 people found the following review helpfulIf you try to play gospel music on it, ya better have some Kleenex handy. This instrument handles gospel so beautifully, it makes your eyes water. Hammer ons and pull offs sound almost magical. I may have a hard time picking up my regular banjo after playing this beauty. Will the circle be unbroken and Palms of victory sounds absolutely fantastic on this instrument. Old western songs sound great too !

Not as bright as a traditional banjo but has a wonderful "growl" to the sound. I would compare it to the difference between an acoustic guitar and a dobro. I originally got it as an easy way to amplify a banjo, but it has me exploring different sound possibilities that just aren't possible with my regular banjo. A real treat to play. Thanks Ross.
