The RK 75 is a professional level banjo that I would not hesitate to play in a band with, take on the road and do anything I ever needed with. The RK-75 is definitely a banjo that can be the only banjo you'll ever need. It has a one piece flange, flathead tone ring, presto tailpiece, Flying eagle fingerboard inlay, the neck feels great and produces deep tone. The 75 features the mastertone-style Flying Eagle peghead design and inlay that Don Reno, Bill Emerson and JD Crowe popularized.
NEW HEADSTOCK DESIGN on RK-R75 - 12-22
The 75 now features Recording King written in scroll writing on the headstock like the RK-76 instead of the name being embedded in the pearl block.
A big and much needed improvement I think.

Modeled after the original Mastertone banjos of the 1930's, the Recording King RK-Elite offers players vintage sound and handcrafted construction. Professional components like a classic Mastertone-style tone ring, true steam-bent 3-ply maple rim and nitrocellulose lacquer finish put this banjo in a category by itself. With classic design features like the vintage-style double-cut Recording King peghead and custom Flying Eagle-style peghead and fretboard inlay, this banjo proudly carries forward the tradition of one of the history's most revered instrument manufacturers.

The case is also beautiful, real quality. I am really enjoying this banjo. Not having access to try different banjos, my only exposure was the cheap unplayable Conqueror and the Goldtone AC -5. Although the GT AC-5 was a good instrument to learn the basics, it now feels like a toy to me. I cannot get over the weight difference and the sound quality. Thanks again for the great service. I will be enjoying this banjo for a long time. P.S. Let’s kick it and Blazing the west are in every one of my playlists. Sam maier Aug 21, 2022 | Recording King RK-R75 I purchased this banjo about a year ago from ross. I wanted to give it some time to really feel out this banjo and give it an honest review. 1. Ross is great! easy to communicate with and very helpful. I've made several purchases since from him and it's always the same great service. 2. When I first received the banjo the packaging was perfect. The banjo was completely safe and ready to play after some simple tuning. 3. I tried a set GHS 150 strings per ross's advice and it was night and day different much better sounding, in my opinion. I've since went to GHS Sonny Osborne strings also nicks advice and I love them even more. Very balanced tone. 5. I went with the Snuffy Smith bridge and the zero glide nut. Very happy with both. I also purchased a Neary drum torque tool with the banjo and have settled on a setting of 8.0.Overall the banjo has a deep bassy mellow sound and is very melodic sounding up the neck. It's exactly the sound I wanted and love. 5 stars, I couldn't be happier with ross or the banjo! |
