The Recording King RK35 or called by it's full name "The Madison RK-R35 gives banjo players on any level the option of a high-quality, great-sounding banjo with the classic 1930's Gibson Mastertone-Style. The 35 has a one piece flange, flathead tone ring, presto tailpiece, classic fingerboard inlay, easy to play neck and the best tone by a long shot in it's price range.

We professionally set your banjo up including, setting the banjo head tension, setting the strings for easy to play low action, make sure the coordinator rods are adjusted correctly and play the banjo to make sure its going to play right when it arrives to you. Our banjo set up and inspection adds another level of quality control before you receive the banjo, this way we are both sure. All banjos are shipped insured and we know how to pack banjos so they arrive safely.

New Head Stock Design on RK-R35
Recording King has redesigned the headstock on the RK-35 with scroll writing instead of The Recording King written inside a solid block. This is much preferred and looks way better. All new and future RK-35's are like this. You can ignore any previous pictures or videos that have the headstock the old way. If for some reason you like the old way, those are no longer available.
RK-35 Description and Specs
The Recording King Madison RK-R35 is built around a 3-ply steam bent maple rim, from the exact same rim construction and materials used in the best-selling RK-R75. It has a maple neck with an adjustable two-way truss rod and a comfortable rosewood fretboard. With a 24-hook brass tension hoop, players can adjust the head tension as precisely as on any world-class banjo. The planetary tuners, geared 5th peg and dual coordinator rods are effective professional components, and add an authentic feel to these impressive banjos.
The Madison RK-R35's maple resonator has a hand-rubbed brown matte finish. We build it with a Mastertone-style bell brass cast tone ring and a Mastertone-style one-piece flange. The Madison peghead and fretboard feature our Seagull inlay, for a banjo that looks as classic as it sounds.
The American threaded nickel-plated hook and nut hardware, as well as the true presto-style tailpiece and armrest are the same as featured on the popular RK-Scout. Jim May 17, 2020 | WOW ! The tone, the feel, the awesome sounds I received my RK-35 yesterday. First word that comes to mind in describing it is “WOW !”. The tone, the feel, the awesome sounds that come from it , and I am still a beginner . The set up is apparently perfect as I can’t imagine a banjo sounding better . This is my third banjo in nine months and will be the last one that I can see me ever needing. Unfortunately two days ago I had to get seven stitches in my left middle fingertip so I can’t play it like I would like for a little while . So I am focusing even more on my right hand (re: your Banjo Encyclopedia ) . The book is helping me to overcome some bad habits from my first eight months learning without your the best instruction. The book is great. It’s obvious that a lot of thought and effort went into its creation. I practice each day from the book for at least an hour and usually more . With the RK-35 I know that practice time will only increase! I plan to soon return to your DVDs and work them in to my practice schedule. Playing by Ear is one of them.
